Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) is a complication of antipsychotic drugs characterized by rigidity, akinesia, dyskinesia, high body temperature, variable blod pressure and tachycardia which may lead to mortality. High creatinine phosphokinase levels, leucocytosis, alterations in level of conciousness, urinary incontinence may be observed in this syndrome. In this case report, a thirteen year old girl in whom NMS developed after a single intramuscular injection of a high potency antipsychotic is described. Supportive therapy and bromocriptine were applied to the patient which were stopped after symptom improvement was obtained.
